ORTHOPEDIC BASED SPORTS MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP
We are proud to announce the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Michigan State University for 2007-2008. This program is a one-year fellowship, beginning July 1, 2007, with emphasis on the diagnosis, operative and non-operative treatment of athletic injuries, with distinct emphasis on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. The program provides the applicant the opportunity to work at a Big 10 Division I University setting with coverage of over 700 Intercollegiate Athletes. It consists of working with 2 surgeons who are Fellowship trained in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive surgery; in both the clinical and surgical settings, Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians and Fellows, and MSU’s Athletic Training Staff . Part of the experience will include working with MSU’s Football Program and all sports on campus plus a local high school during the year.
In addition, there is the opportunity to assist with research projects currently in progress or develop a new project with world class research faculty such as
Steve Arnoczky, DVM; Roger Haut, PhD; and teaching thru MSU-COM.
Applicants must have successfully completed an Orthopedic Residency approved by the AOA, the AOAO, or the AAOS. Licensure in the State of Michigan is also essential.
Interested applicants should forward a letter of intent and a personal statement briefly outlining their interest in Sports Medicine, along with a curriculum vitae, to the above address attn: Vicki Curley. Two letters of recommendation are also required, one of which should be sent by the Residency Program Director. The above information must be received no later than September 30, 2006, and applicants must also be prepared to visit East Lansing for an interview by December 9, 2006.
