Gerald R. Aben, M.D.
Administrative
Currently serving as the Chief of the General Radiology Service, Dr. Aben has served and continues to serve in a variety of administrative roles both within in the Department of Radiology as wells as within the greater University and community. His role as Chief of the General Radiology Services includes the oversight and management of the department's general radiology, ultrasound and mammography services at two campus and two off campus locations.
Currently Dr. Aben serves as the chairperson of the Promotion, Tenure and Reappointment Committee as well as the Continuing Education Committee of the College of Human Medicine. Past responsibilities at the college level has included Chair person of the Clinician's Council. Current committee responsibilities include; Curriculum Committee of both colleges, Continuing Education Committee -CHM, Promotion, Tenure and Reappointment Committee - CHM, University Curriculum Committee.
Dr. Aben serves on the Advisory Council of the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts as well as on the Board of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Aben has in the past served on many committees at St. Lawrence Hospital as well as Sparrow Hospital. He enjoyed a term as Chief of Staff of St. Lawrence Hospital, as well as serving for several years as the Chief of Radiology at that facility.
