Gerald R. Aben, M.D., F.A.C.R, Associate Professor Radiology, received his medical degree in 1979 from Wayne State University and completed his Radiology Residency in 1983 at Providence Hospital in Southfield Michigan. Before he joined the faculty of the Department of Radiology at Michigan State University in January of 1993, he worked for X-Ray Associates, practicing at St. Lawrence Hospital. There he served in various roles including Chief of Staff and Chief of Radiology.  Dr. Aben's area of clinical interest and specialization is mammography and women's imaging.  Current research interests include the development and evaluation of the application of computerization and digital imaging including PACS to radiologic practice and evaluating the various applications of mammography in the community setting including digital mammography.
