Walter E. Smith, D.O., Assistant Professor of Radiology, received his undergraduate degree in allied health science from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah in 1985. A clinical instructor in ultrasound technology from 1985-1992 with Weber State University, Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1996. Following a year of internship he completed his radiology residency in 2001 from Garden City Hospital, Osteopathic. He then completed a fellowship in MRI at Michigan State University in 2002. He currently is a staff radiologist at Michigan State University Department of Radiology.
