James E. Siebert, M.S.
James E. Siebert serves as Chief Engineer & Scientist. His work in MSU Radiology extends back to its founding years, beginning as a graduate research assistant in 1977 with BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering. He leads the Radiology Engineering Group which develops and supports the Department clinical information system (ARIS), implements the Department’s digital imaging system, supports and contributes in Department research projects, and integrates the general networking and computing infrastructure. He began publishing and presenting in the early days of CT and PACS, with his recent publications in MRI clinical applications (~90 total papers, book chapters, abstracts, presentations). His recent work is in cardiovascular MR myocardial perfusion imaging.
GE Medical Systems and
Toshiba Medical Systems have employed algorithms and hardware subsystems he developed in their commercial MR scanners. CT scanners produced by
American Science & Engineering,
Pfizer, and Elscint incorporated his hardware and software developments.
