W. Donald Weston, M.D.

W. Donald Weston, M.D. received his medical degree from the University of Southern California in 1958. After an internship in Pediatrics at the Los Angeles Children's Hospital he completed a residency in Psychiatry & Child Psychiatry at Los Angeles County Medical Center. Dr. Weston earned a Master of Science in Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and holds honorary doctorate degrees at Northern Michigan University and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr Weston served as Dean, at MSU's College of Human Medicine from 1977 - 1989 and as Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences at the University of West Virginia System from 1991 - 2001.
Dr Weston has published many articles including "Community Based Medicine : An Integrated Modular System of Health Care and Education" published in 1970 by the MSU press and "Restructuring Health Care in the United States" in JAMA in 1985 . Dr Weston has spoken at multitudinous national, state and local functions and has served on numerous state, hospital and college-level committees.
He currently serves as an Assistant to the Chairman in the Department of Radiology. Dr. Weston's research interests include: public policy issues affecting early childhood, impact of technology on health care, and development of systems of healthcare.
